“Windy day” at the Chassiron lighthouse in Saint-Denis-d’Oléron
Every 2 years takes place around its famous lighthouse, the “Wind Festival” of Chassiron.
Organized by the municipality of Saint-Denis-d’Oléron and co-organized by the association Kosmodul’air, this festival brings together pilots and artists of the wind.
Upon arrival, the Giants of Heaven and the Wind Gardens of Kosmodul’air greet the public with warm color schemes, suggesting a colorful festive atmosphere.
In the background, the flying field is framed by banner installations opening up a perspective on spectacular and spectacular aerial installations.
The flight scene is animated by the demonstrations of the acrobatic flight teams as well as the visual and luminous performances of the artist Jean-Paul Richon. Finally, at the back of the stage, in a sky magnified by suites of Arches d’O, the Dancers of Heaven come alive in a field of giant poppies.
Again, on the seafront of Port des Barques, at the mouth of the Charente, the wind rose in the early afternoon.
The 4-line Kosmodul’air team performed demonstrations of stunt kites. The Association Volant Train was present with the flight of legendary kites. The dragon of Ludovic Petit darted in all its splendor. The installations of Jean-Paul Richon brought an artistic note with the banners “Demoiselles”, and its giant arch. The children decorated their kites in the workshop and then made them fly, thus gagging the sky of Port des Barques. Finally, two of my Dancers of Heaven came alive and offered a fantastic and original painting.
Once again in Collignon was held the day “Wind of Feast” in the town of Tourlaville.
Many events were planned on this day of celebration of the first days of summer.
We were partying with Kisa, Tom and Ramlal in the activities of making and flying kites.
There was also on the program:
– Nautical animations with the school Sailing and Wind
– Activities on the theme of the environment
– The feast of the game with the childhood service
– Beach soccer and beach volleyball, water aerobics and water walking
On this sunny day, but with a very weak wind, Ramlal flew his light and poetic Birds. For my part, I installed my O Arches able to hold in flight in extreme conditions. Using all of my kites “petals” I improvised a drawing evocation “point by point”.
The kite workshop led by Kisa and Tom was a huge success judging by the waiting girl filled with impatient children (see photo).
This day was punctuated with concerts, then in the evening took place the fire of St Jean followed by the big fireworks.
3 days at the festival of wind and free flight Occitan : “Buffa Venta”.
It is on the site of Cap Découverte, base of leisure created on the old site of a coal mine, that took place the festival “Buffa Venta”. In the day of Friday, it is not less than 1500 children who were expected for a day of flight. A little rain did not stop the toddlers with their kites made during the year. It is thus a real swarm of small kites which invaded the whole site. A true moment of magic!
On Saturday and Sunday, the R’Sky team filled the sky with its giants, its banner wall “Wind-Wall” and, in the evening, with the majesty of lines stretched in the sky, the “Vlags”. Participating kite flyers deployed their wind gardens and flying creations of all shapes and colors.
Bringing a poetic and bucolic atmosphere to this festive weekend, several bouquets of poppies were distributed on the site. In the background, the Arches d’O dressed the impressive panoramic view of the old mine, accompanying the reverie of the many visitors.
“The labyrinth can not be seen at one glance and the red poppies sway in the light breeze. The natural element that this installation is dedicated to is the air. The labyrinth develops a path of 200 meters; 500 plants of Photinia x fraserii with an average height of 180 cm accompany the visitor to discover the Bouquet of Poppies Hanging created by Alain Micquiaux.”
On June 3rd, 2018 took place the third Nature Day organized by the Aliénor Médiathèque of Talmont Saint Hilaire in Vendée.
At this celebration celebrating nature in a family atmosphere, we realized the decoration of the site with some Bouquets de Poppies.
From April 20 to May 1, 2018, the Artevento festival bringing together 200 of the most famous wind artists welcomed us under a radiant sun. We raised the O Arches, Poppies and the new installation of the project “Profile” in the blue sky of Cervia.
It was on a warm invitation from the 30 Kite Club that we went to the 19th Festival del Vento de Spotorno. Nestled between sea and mountains, Spotorno is a very charming Italian town on the north coast of the Mediterranean, about 60 kilometers from Genoa.
The festival puts the dishes in the big and welcomes its participants in an exceptional way. We were staying at Hotel Tirreno, with our feet in the sand … where we also enjoyed fantastic meals, representative of the generous Italian culinary culture.
On our arrival, the day before the festival, it was under a radiant sun that we prepared the Bouquet of Poppies and the Arches d’O so that the public can make the most of this Mediterranean weekend, under the sign of wind.
The long-awaited Italian sun was out of the game and the weather was not in our favor. It is by a total and remarkable absence of the wind as well as under a rain recalling the winter Brittany that the week-end was unrolled.
This did not stop us from growing the Bouquet of Hanging Poppies and preparing the O Arches for take-off. The rare courageous public could benefit from a perfectly unusual vision of the Spotorno beach.
After a Saturday already wet, while the evening in full swing in a warm atmosphere, we learn that the festival is canceled for the day Sunday because of a weather alert announcing very heavy rain.
A bit disappointed by this cancellation, so we will spend this Sunday day watching the rain fall. Then, equipped like the sailors under the waterspouts, we will finish this day by the complete disassembly of the wet poppies.
Despite these exceptional conditions during this festival, we will keep a memory of a fabulous weekend in a Mediterranean atmosphere and full of friends.
Thanks to 30 Kite Club, thank you Giancarlo!
Celestial sport was the subject of the thirty second edition of the Marseille wind festival. For this event or gathering artists and acrobats of the family of the kite of the whole world, a free contest of aerial ballet was organized. Among the pilots of the various usual categories (2 lines and 4 lines: individual, pair and team), I presented in music, an original ballet with my acrobatic single-wire kite, the Switch. Out of twenty participants, it is a very honorable fourth place that rewards my ballet just behind the best pilots world in 4 lines that occupy the first three places. It is therefore possible to perform an aerial dance and to infuse emotions with a single-wire kite in comparison with the performance of very technical gear.
Des Coquelicots sur le Prado
Under a radiant sun and a light morning wind, I installed a Bouquet of Poppies on the sand of Prado de Marseille. The wonder of the children was immediately translated by their invasion of the bouquet of giant flowers.
Un aquarium géant
It was in a steady wind that I realized an unusual arrangement of the O Arches. In association with Eolia Concept and its giant marine creatures, I installed all the O’s around the blue octopus creating an unlikely aquatic atmosphere.
From the 14th to the 16th of July 2017 the feast The Days of the Wind, organized by the association Penvins Cerf-Volant, celebrated its fifteenth edition under a wind in accordance with a radiant sun and a calm and cool sea .
On the morning of the 15th of July, the wind was very soft and calm, perfect for a new installation, such as a gift to Notre-Dame-de-la-Côte. Everyone was invited to go to the tip of the peninsula for a dreamlike ballad in a surprising Bouquet of Giant Poppies.
So I present to you the film of the installation superbly captured by Pauline Garraud on a music of Klifa Rachedi and Maud Rached.
Here, finally, in photos these moments in the transfigured scenery of the western tip of the peninsula. A magnificent, wild place, where everyone has been able to approach nature and discover remarkable points of view.
I thank the association Penvins Kite, the partners of the festival and also all the volunteers who make it live.
